Enduramoms loves to shine a spotlight on women of endurance that are working hard for a worthy cause. Here's to what I hope will become a recurring theme on this blog: The Enduramoms Saturday Spotlight. If you know of a strong woman and/or mom that is running for a great cause...drop us an email and let us know!
If you're one of those runners or triathletes who LOVES to support runners, selfless enough to run for a great cause or maybe you're just addicted to that warm fuzzy feeling you get every time you help others ... I've got a great person and cause for you to support! Skip a latte today and donate that small bit to charity.
Enduramoms Saturday Spotlight for August 7th, 2010 - Ashley of BGR
First: Check out the Black Girls Run website for super tips on running, nutrition, training, African American haircare, gear reviews, and more! Ashley and Toni have put a lot of work into building this informative running site to get women moving and keep the flow of inspiration out there.
Second: Sponsor Ashley in the 2010 ING NYC Marathon. Ashley is running on behalf of the American Heart Association ... which, of course, is a fine organization. Her fundraising goal is $3000 ... and she needs a little help from her friends to hit that big race day goal by November 7th. Isn't it worth donating the cost of a single day's latte $ to a great organization like the American Heart Association? Did you realize that the prevalence of cardiovascular disease in black females is 44.7%? If that figure frightens you as much as it does me...do something today and kick in some support to fight against heart disease!
Third: Well I don't have a third.... I just love saying 1st and second.
Be sure to tell BGR that Enduramoms sent you :)
